SeaWinds on ADEOS II - NASA Satellite

An instrument measuring wind speed and direction over Earths oceans, to improve weather forecasting and various Earth research investigations. It launched aboard Japans ADvanced Earth Observing Satellite II (ADEOS II), to replace an identical instrument flown aboard NASAs QuikScat satellite.
