XRISM
(X-Ray Imaging & Spectroscopy Mission) - JAXA Satellite
The XRISM (X-ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission) is a collaborative space mission led by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) in partnership with NASA and other international partners. This mission is focused on advancing our understanding of the universe through high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy and imaging.
XRISM represents a major step forward in X-ray astronomy, building on the legacy of previous missions like Hitomi (ASTRO-H), which was also developed by JAXA but suffered a premature end. The high-resolution spectroscopic data from XRISM will help answer fundamental questions about the nature of the universe, the behavior of matter under extreme conditions, and the life cycles of stars and galaxies.
