The Expedition 40 crew explored how future crews would communicate with mission controllers farther away from Earth and evaluated specialized shoes that measure exercise performance. The crewmates tested new space biology research hardware to house small mammals and saw the installation of a device that monitored wind speed and direction on the oceans surface.
