CuPID - NASA Satellite

CuPID was a cubesat designed to test competing models of magnetic reconnection at the Earths magnetopause. In orbit, the spacecraft was to measure soft X-rays emitted from the charge-exchange when plasma from the solar wind collides with neutral atoms in the Earths distant atmosphere. The spatial and temporal patterns of soft X-ray images would be used for this scientific investigation.
