Yuri Broadcasting JAXA Satellite

Yuri was the first Japanese broadcasting satellite (BS) launched by the Broadcasting Satellite System Corporation (B-SAT). Yuri, also known as BS-1a, was launched to establish Japan's broadcasting satellite system. Its primary purpose was to provide direct television broadcasting to remote and mountainous areas of Japan where terrestrial television signals were difficult to receive.
