INSAT-3B was a multipurpose geostationary satellite operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for business communication, mobile communication and developmental communication. This satellite was launched on 22 March 2000 from Guiana Space Centre in Kourou. This mission was carried out in Ariane-5G launch vehicle and has a mass of 2070 Kg. INSAT-3B was designed to provide telecommunications, broadcasting, meteorological, and search and rescue services. The satellite aimed to enhance communication infrastructure, expand broadcasting reach, improve weather forecasting capabilities, and support search and rescue operations.
