INSAT-2D

INSAT-2D was a geostationary communication satellite operated by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) was was launched from Guiana Space Centre in Kourou on June 4, 1997 but became operational from 4th October 1997 following a power bus anomaly and associated problems. This mission was carried out in Ariane-44L H10-3 launch vehicle and has a mass of 2079 Kg. The specifications are similar to INSAT-2C satellite. INSAT-2D was equipped with C-band, Extended C-band, and Ku-band transponders for telecommunications and broadcasting services. It carried meteorological instruments, including the Very High-Resolution Radiometer (VHRR), for weather monitoring and forecasting.
