The Pyrotechnical Valve from Orbital Propulsion Centre is a Spacecraft Valve with a qualified operating pressure of 310 bar and a proof pressure of 465 bar. It has a burst pressure of 775-1240 bar and a mechanical response time of 7 ms. This pyrovalve features an all-welded titanium design and is provided with redundant ESA standard initiators. It is compatible with fluids such as Helium, Argon, Nitrogen, MON, MMH, Hydrazine, Deionised water, IPA, and Xenon. The valve has a mass of less than 0.160 kg and is designed for spacecraft and launch vehicle propulsion systems where a 'one shot' device is needed for the permanent opening or closing of a fluid circuit.
