SVS01 Image

The SVS01 from Nammo AS is a Spacecraft Valve with a maximum operating pressure of 120 bar. It has a flow rate of greater than 15 l/min GN2 with 6 bar ΔP and is compatible with xenon, GN2, GHe, CF4, butane, and propane operating media. This flow control valve has a proof pressure of 180 bar and a burst pressure of 300 bar. It has an internal leakage of less than 1 x 10-3 scc/s GHe at 120 bar and an external leakage of less than 1 x 10-6 scc/s GHe at 120 bar. The valve uses a flat faced seal to reduce the risk associated with valve internal leakage due to a high cycle life. It has an opening/closing response of less than 10 ms and an operating life cycle of 300000 cycles. The valve has a mass of less than 60 g and an envelope diameter of Ø 17.06mm. This high pressure flow control valve is TRL9 qualified and has flown on ESA’s Proba 2 mission.
