The Fill and Drain Valve from Nammo AS is a Spacecraft Valve with a maximum operating pressure of 328 bar. It has a flow rate of less than 0.05 mbar with 5.5 mg/s GXe at 20°C and is compatible with GXe, GN2, GHe, NTO, MMH, N2H4 operating media. This flow control valve has a proof pressure of 656 bar and a burst pressure of 1312 bar. It has an internal leakage of less than 1 x 10-4 scc/s GHe and an external leakage of less than 1 x 10-6 scc/s GHe. The Fill and Drain Valve flight unit [FHC] consists of a Titanium alloy housing incorporating a stainless screw mechanism providing the primary seal. This seal is formed by a silicon nitride ball making point contact with the screw mechanism minimising friction and ensuring only axial movement is transmitted. It has a hardware mass of less than 50 g and an envelope length of 78.5mm including stub tube. This high-pressure flow control valve is a TRL9 qualified and has flown different platforms such as SpaceBus 4000, AlphaSat, and Vega Upper Stage AVUM.
