The Virtex-5QV from Advanced Micro Devices is an FPGA that provides exceptional hardness to single-event upsets (SEUs), total immunity to single-event latch-ups (SELs), total ionizing doses (TIDs) of over 1 Mrad (Si), and datapath protection from single-event transients (SETs). It is the only reprogrammable and highest-density radiation-hardened FPGA. The FPGA has an advanced, optimal-utilization, FPGA logic with real 6-input look-up table (LUT) technology and a dual 5-LUT option. It has 36 Kb block RAM/FIFOs with true dual-port RAM blocks and features parallel SelectIO technology with an operating I/O voltage range of 1.2-3.3 V. The FPGA has advanced DSP48E slices organized as 25 x 18, twos complement, multiplication and RocketIO GTX transceivers with data rates of 150 Mb/s to 4.25 Gb/s. It is fabricated using 65 nm copper CMOS process technology and has a core voltage of 1 V. The FPGA has flexible configuration options such as SPI and Parallel flash interface and comes with off-chip thermal monitoring capability. It is designed to meet the requirements of space applications that demand high performance as well as high reliability.
