The PHOTON-SIDE from AAC Clyde Space is a Satellite Solar Panel with a power generation capacity of up to 9 W per 3U populated face. It has a stowed height of 3.5 mm and weighs 135 g. This panel has 4 mil anti-reflective coated cover glass and thermal knife/cord HDRM. The solar panels are constructed using a cost-effective combination of FR4 substrates and 30.7% efficient Spectrolab XTJ-Prime solar cells. It has the standard acceptance of thermal cycling, illumination testing, deployment testing, sensor check and visual inspection. It uses low-outgassing material and is staked & head-locked for flight. It is designed to be compatible with the AAC Clyde Space ZAPHOD structure range. The side solar panels are designed to fit at the side panels of CubeSat structures, to provide optimized power generation from any side of the satellite. This solar panel is available in 1U, 2U, 3U and 6U face sizes and is ideal for CubeSat deployment mechanisms.
