The PAS 381S from Beyond Gravity is a Separation System with a total mass of 3.7 kg. This separation system has a bolt pretension of 11 kN and a low shock output of less than 100 g’s (at 1 kHz). It has 4 to 24 separation springs with a spring energy of 1.1 Joule. The separation system supports 24 x 1/4 inch bolts placed on a diameter of 381 mm for the active and passive ring interface. With a CBOD-LT separation system release mechanism it can provide a unique combination of high load capability and a low shock release. The separation system has a height of 79 mm. It has been developed to fit the ESPA 15-inch adapter interface and is designed for interfacing small-sized spacecraft with launcher vehicles.
