The RLS-2100 from Square Peg Communications Inc is a Satellite Link Emulator that operates with a frequency of 700 to 2150 MHz. It supports hardware-in-the-loop physical layer and end-to-end network performance testing of wideband satellite and terrestrial radio communications systems. This radio link simulator includes integrated real-time multi-satellite orbit calculation and display for modelling LEO, MEO, HEO, GEO, and mixed satellite constellations, and dual GNSS simulator for station positioning. It features simulated signal paths that include the RF characteristics of the transmitter, uplink, satellite/relay, downlink, and receiver, with realistic modelling of characteristics such as path delay, Doppler and fading. The simulator is controlled using a touch-screen or keyboard with Ethernet, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 and USB interfaces. It has a rack-mount enclosure that weighs 7 kg and measures 51 x 51.75 x 12.07 cm. This simulator is ideal for hardware-in-the-loop physical layer testing and end-to-end network performance testing applications of wideband satellite and terrestrial radio communications systems.
