MTQ140 Image

The MTQ140 by Lusospace is a Magnetorquer with a magnetic dipole moment of 140 AM^2 and a linearity error of about 1 %. It has a residual magnetic moment of less than 0.5 % and a time constant of 175 ms. This dual coil magnetorquer requires a supply voltage of +/- 15 V and consumes 4.5 W of power. It is radiation hardened up to 100 kRad and is fully qualified for space applications according to ECSS (ESA) standards and MIL standards. It generates a magnetic moment that can be used for S/C attitude control or reaction wheels offloading. This magnetorquer has a mass of 3.6 Kg and measures 620 x 90 x 60 mm. It is ideally suited for small/middle-sized spacecraft.
