The CMG8 from Blue Canyon Technologies is a Control Moment Gyroscope that has a momentum of 8 Nms and a torque of 8 Nm. It has an unlimited gimbal axis angular range. The CMG requires a supply voltage of 22-36 VDC and has a power consumption of 15W (full momentum) and 30W (maneuver). It has a mass of less than 10 kg and supports an RS-422 interface. This gyroscope has a design life of more than 10 years and is based on BCT reaction wheel technology that provides low jitter. It has an optional discrete CMG torque and momentum controller which can be fully integrated into spacecraft attitude control systems that supports 4 CMGs. It measures 220 x 220 x 300 mm.
