The CMG12 from Blue Canyon Technologies is a Control Moment Gyroscope (CMG) that is designed to provide spacecraft with expanded agility to navigate successful space missions with a lifetime of more than 10 years. It has a momentum of 12 Nms and a torque of 12 Nm. This CMG has an unlimited gimbal axis angular range and power consumption of 20 W (full momentum) and 35 W (maneuver) per CMG. It requires a DC supply of 22-36 V and supports the RS-422 interface. The CMG features flexible interface options including discrete CMG torque and momentum control to fully integrate spacecraft attitude control systems using up to four CMGs. It leverages advanced reaction wheel technology that provides low jitter and long-life performance. The CMG has a mass of less than 18 g and measures 34 x 43 x 38 cm.
