The Bobcat 32Ka from Comtech Xicom Technology is a SATCOM Block Upconverter that converts an input IF frequency of 1000-2000 MHz to an output RF frequency of 30.0-31.0 GHz. This GaN BUC has an external LO reference frequency of 10 MHz and an IF/REF input impedance of 50 Ohms. It delivers a saturated output power of 32 W and has a minimum linear power of 16 W. The BUC has a small signal gain of 55 dB and a gain attenuation range of 25 dB in 0.1 dB steps. It has a noise power of -76 dBW/4 kHz (transmit band) and -150 dBW/4 kHz (receive band). The BUC has spurious levels of -60 dBc and a phase noise of -103 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset. It requires a DC supply of 22-56 V and draws a DC power of 160 W. The BUC supports Ethernet and RS-232 interfaces for monitoring and control. It comes in a rugged MIL-STD-810 certified module that weighs 2.54 Kg and measures 6.8 x 4.4 x 3.8 inches. The BUC is ideal for satcom uplinks.
