The 9107 from Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is an Attach and Release Mechanism with a proof load rating of 260 kN and a release load rating of 195 kN. This mechanism has a fuse wire resistance of 1.2-2 Ohm and requires an actuation current of 4 A. It has a low output shock of less than 1100 g/s (preload) and a release time of 50 ms. This non-pyrotechnic hold down and release mechanism has a no-fire current rating of 250 mA and a mass of 2155 g. It features a non-explosive HDR function, high restrained preload, low release shock, and flight pedigree on more than 750 space platforms. The mechanism is ideal for applications such as antennas, reflectors, solar arrays, deployable radiators, booms, masts, scientific instruments, satellite and spacecraft deployment, launch vehicle and missile stage, fairing separation, and missile payload separation.
