Beyond Gravity one of the leaders in selected satellite products and a supplier of structures for all types of launch vehicles has introduced a low shock separation system for a wide range of satellite missions.
The PAS 610S Separation System is based on the already flight-proven systems at Beyond Gravity. It is designed to securely hold satellites to their launch vehicles during the difficult journey to orbit and then precisely deliver the valuable payload to orbit at the specified relative velocity, potential spin, or transverse spin.
The Separation System includes a low shock clamp band separation system, interface rings, umbilical connection, and a separation spring set. With a CBOD-LT Separation System Release Mechanism, it can provide the unique combination of high load capability and a low shock release output of less than 100 g's (at 1 kHz).
The PAS 610S has a total mass of 5.8 Kg and a separated mass of 1 Kg. It has a bolt pretension of 15 kN and measures 73 mm (height). The separation system supports 36 x 1/4 inch bolt holes on a diameter of 609.6 mm interface for the passive ring and 36 x 1/4 inch bolt holes on a diameter of 609.6 mm interface for the active ring. The load capability of the Beyond Gravity PAS 610S Separation System is fully compatible with the Moog CSA ESPA.
Beyond Gravity, product family to date includes a broad range of Separation Systems, spanning diameters from 360 mm to 2624mm (14” to 103”) which are suitable for in-orbit separation of return-to-earth capsules.
