Ramon.Space Launches UK Subsidiary to Advance Space Computing and Communication Systems

Ramon.Space, one of the leading providers of space-resilient computing infrastructure, has announced the launch of its new subsidiary, Ramon.Space UK. This milestone marks the company’s first European office, continuing its mission to advance space computing and communications on a global scale.

Ramon.Space UK will serve as a key engineering hub, driving innovation and accelerating advancements in space computing and communications both within the UK and globally. The company is embarking on significant hiring initiatives to attract top local talent, aiming to enhance its engineering capabilities and foster cutting-edge innovation.

“We see tremendous potential in the UK space sector and are eager to contribute to its growth,” said Avi Shabtai, Chief Executive Officer at Ramon.Space. “Our high-performance computing systems and processors are designed to meet the rigorous demands of satellite and deep space missions, empowering government agencies and commercial providers to achieve mission success with confidence.”

The strategic location at Surrey Research Park, a renowned hub for research, development, and commercial space companies operated by The University of Surrey, will provide Ramon.Space with access to a community of space innovators and researchers – creating ample opportunities for collaboration and joint initiatives.

“We are delighted to welcome Ramon.Space UK to the Space South Central cluster,” said Tobias Marchant, International Partnership Manager at Space South Central. “Their computing innovation and talented team will be invaluable to our community and the UK space market, and we look forward to working together on joint initiatives.” The UK space industry has been experiencing significant growth and is now recognized as one of the most dynamic and innovative space sectors globally. In 2022, the UK’s space sector added £7 billion in value to the economy and supported 48,800 jobs, with projections indicating the industry could be valued at over £40 billion by 2030.* The sector’s trajectory is fueled by a combination of government support, private investment, and a thriving ecosystem of startups and established companies.

Dr Craig Brown, Investment Director at the UK Space Agency, said: “The UK space sector is flourishing and the number of organizations choosing the UK as their home rises year on year. We’d like to welcome Ramon.Space to the thriving Space South Central cluster. “As a valuable company driving innovation in high-performance computing systems and processors, Ramon.Space UK will further cement our leadership in this vital technology for future satellite communications and create new high-value jobs. It also demonstrates the UK as the location of choice to grow an international space business.”

The market for advanced computing in space missions is rapidly accelerating, driven by the increasing complexity of space missions and the demand for robust, reliable technology. Ramon.Space is uniquely positioned to capitalize on this opportunity, offering space-resilient computing solutions that ensures reliable and robust performance in the harshest environments. For the government sector, this means secure, radiation-hardened technology that supports critical operations, ensuring unmatched security and resilience. For commercial satellite providers, Ramon.Space’s solutions enhance efficiency and capabilities, driving applications innovation and market growth.

Moreover, Ramon.Space is revolutionizing telecommunications and 5G networks through multi-orbit communications and flexible software-based payloads. Their high-performance technology supports advanced use cases like 5G NTN, ensuring seamless connectivity and enhanced communication capabilities across networks. By establishing a presence in the UK, Ramon.Space not only taps into a rich network of space industry professionals but also contributes to the broader goal of enhancing the UK’s capabilities in space and satellite technology. This move underscores the strategic importance of international collaborations in advancing global space missions and developing space-resilient computing infrastructure.
