Aerospacelab announced it has been selected by MDA Space one of the leading providers of advanced technology and services to the rapidly expanding global space industry, as part of the company’s supply chain for MDA AURORA, a game-changing product line driving the transition from analog to digital satellite technology.
Aerospacelab will provide battery charge regulators (BCRs), a critical high-power subsystem, for the MDA AURORA constellation. Contracted to deliver more than 200 units over three years, the first deliveries to MDA Space are scheduled by 2026. Aerospacelab is building on its proven flight-heritage and high technology readiness level (TRL-9) to rapidly design, test and mass produce these units.
The MDA AURORA supply chain will help support product deliveries for anchor customer Telesat’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellation Telesat Lightspeed, an innovative, advanced global network that will bring enterprise-class connectivity to customers worldwide.
"Aerospacelab is uniquely positioned to provide prime quality solutions at a new space schedule and price," said Benoit Deper, Founder and CEO of Aerospacelab. "By coupling proven space heritage with an industry-leading design suite, the result is advanced technology delivered with unmatched agility."
Designed to meet the changing technical and business requirements of the satellite industry, the software-defined MDA AURORATM product line provides operators with unparalleled flexibility and functionality, dramatically enhancing constellation performance at reduced cost and time to market.
