Beidou IGSO 4, a Chinese Navigation satellite, was launched from Xichang on 26 July 2011 by a Long March 3A rocket. Beidou IGSO 4, also known as Beidou 2-I4, is part of the Beidou satellite network, Chinas Navigation Satellite System (CNSS). The Beidou 2 constellation, which will eventually consist of 35 spacecraft, is designed to provide precise navigation, timing and messaging services.
